3D modelling is the process of creating three-dimensional representations, from complex environments and machinery to simple objects. 3D models are the literal building blocks of the entire family of extended reality (XR) training solutions and 3D animations. This means that, when you develop any assets in 3D or XR, you first need to build the models. The advantage of investing in 3D models for your organization is that the assets can be repurposed in other training solutions as you build your library.

The difference in pricing for 3D modeling is about the amount of realism/details required. TLN offers two tiers of 3D model development: Standard and Premium.

Our Process

CONCEPTUALIZATION AND DESIGN

This phase involves understanding the requirements and defining the purpose of the 3D model. It may include sketches, storyboards, or reference images to solidify the vision.

Using specialized software like SketchUp, Blender, or AutoCAD, designers create a preliminary 3D representation. This stage focuses on layout, proportions, and basic structures.

MODELING

3D Developers refine the initial design, adding intricate details like textures, materials, and finer features. This step requires meticulous attention to accuracy and realism, especially for complex shapes or organic forms.

RIGGING AND ANIMATION (IF 3D ANIMATION OR XR DEVELOPMENT)

For animated models (e.g., characters or creatures), rigging involves creating a digital skeleton (armature) with joints and controls. This allows animators to pose and animate the model realistically.

RENDERING

3D developers arrange the 3D model within a virtual environment, adding lighting, cameras, and background elements. The 3D developer may compose multiple rendered layers or elements together, adjusting colors, adding effects, or integrating the 3D model into real-world footage. Fine-tuning details such as adding additional visual effects to enhance the overall look.
